Overview
Prolactinoma may occur as part of a hereditary disorder called multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN 1), so patients with MEN 1 are at increased risk for prolactinoma. So patients with any of these syndromes are at increased risk for prolactinoma.

Prolactinoma may occur as part of a hereditary disorder called multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN 1), so patients with MEN 1 are at increased risk for prolactinoma. A minority of tumors are associated with:
- Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN I)[1]
- Carney complex
- McCune-Albright Syndrome
- MEN like syndrome (CKDN1B loss of function)
