Prolactinoma must be differentiated from other causes of hyperprolactinemia including:
- Pituitary tumors (other than prolactinoma).
- Somatotroph adenoma[1]: Acromegaly
- Corticotroph adenoma: Cushing's syndrome
- Hypothyroidism
- Normal pregnancy
