Overview
Symptoms of Paget's disease of the breast include itching, redness, thickened skin, and ulceration of the nipple.
History and symptoms
Symptoms usually occur in one breast. Some patients have two or more symptoms at presentation, although often they are asymptomatic, and, occasionally, a palpable mass is detectable.[1] Symptoms of Paget's disease of the breast include:[2]
- Itching, tingling, or redness in the nipple and/or areola
- Flaking, crusty, or thickened skin on or around the nipple
- Erosion or ulceration of the nipple
- A flattened nipple
- Discharge from the nipple that may be yellowish or bloody
