The prevalence of GDM showed a 12% increase per year (95% CI = 9–14%; P < 0.0001) over the period from 1994 to 2002 in one study.[1] In another study, Over the 7-year period, the age and race/ethnicity adjusted prevalence of GDM was from 7.5 per 100 in 1999 to 7.4 per 100 in 2005.[2]
