Overview
Prostatitis must be differentiated from various causes on the basis of dysuria, pain and the presentation. The differential diagnosis includes acute cystitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatic abscess, bladder cancer, urinary tract stones, and a foreign body within the urinary tract.[1]
