Overview
There are no established causes for systemic lupus erythematosus. Common causes of systemic lupus erythematosus include genetic predisposition, auto-immune disease, and drugs. Less common causes of systemic lupus erythematosus include environmental factors, and exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light.
