Overview
Cost-effectiveness of Therapy
Oral contraceptives, finasteride, spironolactone and cyproterone acetate are known to be effective treatments for hirsutism, specially in short term. However in long term , using spironolactone may lead to a lower Ferriman-Galloway score comparing to other treatments. Treatment with spironolactone is also cost-effective.
In general combination of spironolactone and oral contraceptives in patients who doesn't respond to single therapy is more cost-effective comparing to other treatment combinations.[1]
