- Increased muscle echogenicity as a result of muscle cells replacement by fat and connective tissue and normal muscle thickness

Ultrasound may be helpful in the diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Findings on an ultrasound suggestive of Duchenne muscular dystrophy include:[1]
