Overview
Causes
Recent surgery (most common following coronary artery bypass surgery),[1] neurologic disorders, serious infections, cardiorespiratory insufficiency, metabolic disturbances, and drugs that disturb colonic motility (e.g., anticholinergics or narcotics) contribute to the development of this condition.[2]
