Overview

Acute right lower quadrant abdominal pain arises from the distal gastrointestinal tract and is accompanied by other symptoms like diarrhea, hematochezia and tenesmus. But pain from above abdominal and below pelvic structures may also radiate towards this quadrant. In females, the pain arising from the adnexa of the uterus is as common as the pain originating from the distal intestine.
