Overview
Echocardiography or ultrasound are not used in the diagnosis of sleep apnea. Cor pulmonale and pulmonary hypertension may be evident in patients with severe sleep apnea in echocardiography.

- Cor pulmonale and pulmonary hypertension may be evident in patients with severe sleep apnea in echocardiography, showing the following structural changes:
- Right ventricular dilatation
- Abnormal flattening of the interventricular septum
- Right atrial enlargement
