Overview

Angiography: May show anterior displacement of the basilar artery.
Other tests, including positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), have not yet shown to be reliable in distinguishing necrosis from tumor recurrence in brainstem gliomas.
