Overview
Head and Neck CT scan may be diagnostic of oral cancer.
CT findings
A CT scan can provide information about the size, shape and position of any tumor and may help identify enlarged lymph nodes. CT scan may be done for a number of reasons both before and after a cancer diagnosis, which include:
- To diagnose oral cancer
- To learn how far cancer may have spread
- To help determine if treatment has been effective
- To look for possible signs of cancer recurrence after treatment
