Overview

HIV-associated nephropathy is a known aggressive renal disease that affects patients infected with HIV-1 virus. The first reported cases of HIV-associated nephropathy was first described in 1984 by Rao et al. in a published report titled " Associated focal and segmental glomerulosclerosis in the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.[1]
