Laboratory Findings

• Laboratory studies should also be considered in all patients with epidural hematoma, including:
  • A complete blood count to check for thrombocytopenia
  • Coagulation studies (PTT, PT/INR) to check for coagulopathy
  • Basic metabolic panel to check for electrolyte abnormalities
