- The physical examination plays a limited role in the diagnosis of thymic carcinoma, nevertheless it is important to check general signs of health and signs of paraneoplastic syndromes that could be present in the neuroendocrine subtype.
- Some patients with thymic masses could have fullness in the lower part of the neck on palpation.
- Thymus tenderness is sometimes present on examination.
