Nasopharyngeal carcinoma may be classified according to microscopic features into 3 subtypes:
- Well-differentiated (keratinizing type)
- Moderately-differentiated (nonkeratinizing type)
- Undifferentiated (most strongly associated with Epstein-Barr virus infection)[1]
