Overview
Some other diagnostic tests like a biopsy can be utilised under certain circumstances to diagnose and differentiate prostatitis from other suspected pathologies in particular the carcinoma of the prostate.[1]
Prostatic Biopsy
A biopsy of the prostate is done when a suspicion of prostatic carcinoma is present specially in case of chronic prostatitis. The biopsy shows inflammatory changes only in case of prostatitis. [2]
