Overview

There are no established measures for the primary prevention of volvulus. It has been suggested that complications of abdominal surgeries namely adhesions, should be avoided by establishing a clean field and surgical technique.

• There are no established measures for the primary prevention of volvulus.
• However, volvulus can occur via adhesions in the abdomen caused by complications of abdominal surgery. Therefore, care should be taken to avoid these complications by:
