Overview
On ultrasound, splenic hamartomas are hyperechoic solid masses, with or without cystic changes, that are hypervascular on Doppler ultrasound.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound may be helpful in the diagnosis of splenic hamartomas. Findings on an ultrasound suggestive of splenic hamartomas include:[1][2]
- Hyperechoic solid masses
- Possible cystic changes
- Hypervascularity on color Doppler
- Other hamartomas show no remarkable findings on ultrasound.[1]
