MRI
- MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of Guillain Barre syndrome. Findings on MRI suggestive of Guillain Barre syndrome include:
- Anterior and posterior nerve root enhancement.
- cauda equina enhancement.
NOTE: The underlying etiology of these findings is blood brain barrier disruption due to inflammation.
