Indications
- Surgery is not the first-line treatment option for patients with sideroblastic anemia.[1]
- The indications for surgry are
- young patients with congenital sideroblastic anemia,not responsive to pyridoxine
- Transfusion dependent patients
- Liver cirrhosis
- Iron overload refractory to
- Iron chelation therapy
- phlebotomy
Contraindications
- Patients with organ damage from secondry hemochromatosis.
