Overview
Hypopharyngeal cancer may be classified according to the location into 4 subtypes: pyriform sinus cancer, postcricoid area cancer, and posterior wall of hypopharynx cancer. A pyriform sinus cancer subtype is found in 60 to 85 percent of patients who are diagnosed with hypopharyngeal cancer.
