Mantle cell lymphoma is a rare disease that tends to affect elderly patients > 60 years. Male are more commonly affected with mantle cell lymphoma than female. The male to female ratio is approximately 4 to 1.
Epidemiology and Demographics
Incidence
The incidence of mantle cell lymphoma was estimated to be 3-10% of non-hodgkins lymphoma.
Prevalence
There are only about 15,000 patients presently in the U.S. (The prevalence seems to be somewhat higher in Europe.)
Age
Mantle cell lymphoma is a rare disease that tends to affect elderly patients > 60 years.
