Microscopic pathology

Atypical squamous cells with invasion through the basement membrane:

• Cytology:

• Nucleus - typical central
• +/-Mitoses.
• Cytoplasm - "dense-appearing", typically eosinophilic (may be intensely eosinophilic).

+/-Squamous whorls.
