The overall incidence of pseudomyxoma peritonei is 0.5 to 1 cases per 100,000 people per year. Pseudomyxoma peritonei is slightly more common in women than men (male:female ratio is 9:11). The median age at presentation is typically about 50 years with a range of 20–25 years.
