Age

• Papillary thyroid cancer (as is the case with follicular thyroid cancer) typically occurs in the middle-aged, with a peak incidence in the 3rd and 4th decades.
• It occurs more frequently in women and presents in the 20–55 year age group

Gender

• It is more common in women with a female:male ratio of 1:1.6 - 3:1
