Secondary Prevention

Secondary prevention of Zika infected patients involves efforts to reduce incidence of the most serious complication of vertical transmission and subsequent birth defects. Methods of secondary prevention of zika virus include reduction of partner to partner sexual transmission as well as appropriate family planning in endemic regions. The following is a CDC recommended guideline for infected zika patients planning a pregnancy:
