Overview

In some cases of hirsutism, surgery may be indicated.

If a tumor of ovaries or adrenal glands is the underlying cause of hirsutism, surgery may be the treatment option.^[1]

Oophorectomy is indicated sometimes for perimenopausal or postmenopausal women with severe hyperandrogenism.^[2]
