Demographics
- The prevalence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is approximately 1 per 100,000 individuals in the USA.[1]
- Nasopharyngeal carcinomas account for approximately 70% of all primary malignancies of the nasopharynx.
- Although it is rare in Western populations, it is one of the most common malignancies in Asia. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is thought to be very common in Southern China, accounting for approximately 18% of all cancers in China.[2][3][4]
