Overview

Chest x ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of thymic carcinoma.

Chest X-Ray

• A chest X-ray is the first step in the diagnosis of thymic carcinoma and is normally an incidental finding.
• Some thymic carcinomas may be associated with pleural effusion that could also be seen in the chest x-ray.

AP CXR that shows a radioopaque mass in the left anterior and middle mediastinum. Left pleural effusion and high-riding diaphragm suggesting phrenic nerve palsy
