Overview
Laboratory Findings
CSF analysis:
CSF analysis mostly used to rule out other differential diagnosis of MS since it’s not needed in MS patients who have typical clinical presentation and MRI findings. The first thing we see in CSF analysis is the appearance and pressure of CSF which is usually normal in MS patients. One of the most important findings in CSF analysis of MS patients is the presence of oligoclonal IgG bands and can be seen in more than 95% of these patients. Oligoclonal bands are an indicator of disease progression.
