Site of Thrombosis

Arterial thrombosis most commonly occur in association with atherosclerosis and vascular wall defects. The formation of thrombosis in arteries of any site of the body leads to various consequences resulting from common mechanism. The main effect of thrombus formation in an organ artery is limiting its blood supply which can cause ischemia.
