Overview
Laboratory findings consistent with the diagnosis of hemophilia include normal prothrombin time (PT), prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), normal bleeding time (BT), and normal platelet count.
Laboratory Findings
Laboratory findings consistent with the diagnosis of hemophilia include:
- Normal prothrombin time (PT)[1][2][3][4]
- Normal platelet count[5]
- Reduced red blood cell (RBC) count[6]
- Normal bleeding time
- Elevated activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT)[1][2][5][7][8][4]
- Bethesda assay indicating the presence of antibodies against factor VIII[9][10]
- Normal fibrinogen level[4][5]
