Overview

Kaposi's sarcoma is caused by coinfection with HIV and HHV-8.

Kaposi's sarcoma is caused by an infection with HHV-8.^[1]
The term Kaposi's sarcoma associated virus(KHSV) was coined in order to name the viral causes.^[2]
