- This test is easy, safe (as thiamine is not toxic in high doses), and saves time, efforts, and cost into the patient's treatment.[1]

The following finding on performing thiamine replacement test is confirmatory for beriberi:
- Clinical improvement of the patient's symptoms
- Echocardiographic improvement of cardiac function.
