Overview
There is no routine screening guideline for patent ductus arteriosus screening, but if it diagnosed early, it can benefit preterm neonates.
Screening
- Patent ductus arteriosus is often diagnosed pre-partum by ultrasonography.[1]
- It can benefit extremely premature neonates by reducing short term mortality of those.[2]
- Checking for PDA is not a routine screening and is often times a randome finding.[3]
