Screening
There is insufficient evidence to recommend routine screening for personality disorder. However, a few instruments are being employed to screen for personality disorders by family physicians particularly fir BPD. Most of the instruments that are available for assessing the disease severity and diagnostic purpose. The most commonly used are as follows:
- Suicide risk screening tool
- Structured clinical interview for DSM-IV and axis II PDs
- Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory–II
- Standardised assessment of personality abbreviated scale
- Million clinical multiaxial inventory-III
- International Personality Disorder Examination
