There are only about 15,000 patients presently in the U.S. (The prevalence seems to be somewhat higher in Europe.)
Gender
The ratio of males to females affected is about 4:1.
Age
At diagnosis, the typical patient is in their 60s and usually presents to the oncologist with advanced disease.
