FDG(Fludeoxyglucose) PET is a useful image study that allows differentiation between a thymoma and thymic carcinoma. The standarized uptake value in the FDG PET is much higher for the thymic carcinoma, with a high sensitivity (84.6%), specificity (92.3%)
