Lymphangitis due to infectious etiology
Acute lymphangitis
Local manifestations of acute lymphangitis include:[1][2][5][8]
- Commonly effects the extremities
- Pain(throbbing in nature)
- Redness
- Swelling of the region
- Red streaks from the infected area to the regional lymph node
Systemic manifestations of acute lymphangitis include:[1][2][5][8]
- Chills
- Headache
- Loss of appetite
- Malaise
- Enlarged and tender lymph nodes
- Muscle aches
Common symptoms of chronic granulomatous lymphangitis include:[1][3][4][8]
- Painless or painful subcutaneous nodule at the site of incoulation, common effecting the extermities
- Nodules may subsequently ulcerate at site on inoculation, as seen in case of Sporothrix schenckii
- Slowly, multiple subcutaneous nodules appear and extend proximally along the course of lymphatics

Lymphangitis due to non-infectious etiology

- Dyspnea(insidious in onset)
- Non-productive cough
- Chest pain
- Cyanosis
- Cachexia
Sclerosing lymphangitis
Patient with sclerosing lymphangitis present with:[10]
- Pain and discomfort in the genital area.
- Sudden onset of flesh colored red firm, cordlike lesion on penis
