Overview

MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of POEMS syndrome. Findings on MRI suggestive of POEMS syndrome include diffuse lumbosacral nerve root enhancement on spinal imaging, bone lesions, hepatomegaly and splenomegaly on abdominal imaging, and on brain imaging, hyperintense lesions in the regions of periventricular and subcortical white matter and thalamus.
