- Serum vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) levels
- Pancreatic polypeptide levels and neurotensin levels
- Low serum potassium, bicarbonate, hypomagnesaemia, and hypercalcaemia levels secondary to faecal loss
- Low basal gastric acid output
