Overview
The prevalence of Goodpasture syndrome worldwide affects an estimated 1 per million person a year, with high prevalence in Caucasians. The peak incidence of the disease occurs between the ages of 20 and 30 and again at 60 and 70. [1]
Age
The age at which Goodpasture syndrome occurs in two peaks 1) ages 20 and 30 2) ages 60 and 70.[1]
Gender
Males are at higher risk of developing Goodpasture syndrome at a younger age while females are at higher risk later in life.[1]
Race
In European populations between half and one case presents per million people per year. It is rarer than this in non-European populations.
