Most common symptoms of rectal prolapse include pain, fullness or a lump inside rectum, fecal incontinence or constipation.
History and Symptoms
Rectal prolapse can be diagnosed in outpatient clinics by history taking and inspection of the protruded rectum.[1] Symptoms of rectal prolapse include:[2][3]
- Pain
- Incomplete evacuation
- Fullness or a lump inside rectum
- Bloody and/or mucous rectal discharge
- Fecal incontinence or constipation
- Rectal bleeding
- Urinary incontinence
- Vaginal vault prolapse
