Fat embolism syndrome is associated with elevations in the following laboratory values:
- Plasma PLA2 (phospholipase A2)
- Nitrate/nitrite
- Methylguanidine
- TNF-α (tumour necrosis factor-α)

- IL-10 (interleukin-10)
