Overview
Echocardiography has no role in establishing the diagnoses of small intestine cancer. But Ultrasound can be very useful in early stages of the presentation which can help exclude other causes of abdominal symptoms from cancer of small intestine.
Echocardiography/Ultrasound
- There are no echocardiography findings associated with small intestine cancer.
- Ultrasound is a very useful tool to detect the mass in the abdomen in early stages of presentation.[1]
- Ultrasound can also help by ruling out other benign causes of symptoms.[2]
- Ultrasonography can diagnose and assess vascularity of larger lesions but the smaller tumors (<2 cm) may not be detected.[3]
