Causes
- PPT is considered to be chronic autoimmune disease that occurs due autoimmune response towards thyroid gland in postpartum period, miscarriage or abortion.
Genetic Causes
- PPT is caused by a mutation in the G-allele mutation of CD60 CTLA-4 gene and mutation of HLA DR-3. HLA DR-4, and HLA DR-5 gene.
