Symptoms of small intestine cancer include abdominal pain, weight loss, nausea, bloating, loss of appetite, and jaundice.
History and Symptoms
History:
Patients usually present with non-specific symptoms such as:
- Lethargy
- Early satiety
- Blood in stools
- Abdominal pain
- Abdominal mass
Common Symptoms:
- Majority of patients with small Intestinal cancers are asymptomatic or have non-specific symptoms, which contributes to its late diagnosis, misdiagnoses and more investigations.[1]
- Symptoms are nonspecific and can include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Abdominal pain
- Weight loss
- Abdominal mass
- Lethargy
- Lack of appetite
- Blood in stools
Less common symptoms:
- Small intestine cancer may also present with advance are rare symptoms, when more common and early symptoms are ignored,e.g:
- Symptoms related to obstruction appear when tumor is at advanced stage as, contents of small intestine are mostly fluid.
