Overview
Postpartum thyroiditis "PPT" is considered to be sub-acute lymphocytic thyroiditis that occurs due autoimmune response towards thyroid gland in postpartum period, miscarriage or abortion. PPT is caused by a mutation in the G-allele mutation of CD60 CTLA-4 gene and mutation of HLA-DR3. HLA-DR4, and HLA-DR5 gene.
Causes
- PPT is considered to be sub-acute lymphocytic thyroiditis that occurs due autoimmune response towards thyroid gland in postpartum period, miscarriage or abortion. [1]
Genetic Causes
